Motswako Rapper Blows Up

Cassper Nyovest album

Mr Nyovest the game changer

The popular Refiloe Maele Phoolo known as Cassper Nyovest was born in Mafikeng on the 16 December 1990. How dope is it for a high school drop out who decided to be a rapper and just days ago won 5 Metro awards? I think its passion and all it takes is just one step you decide to take. His album Tsholofelo was released on the 18 July 2014 which took over the music industry locally and internationally recognised. It is very clear that his fan base on social media is playing a big part in his music and as a person.
Nyovest record label

Family Tree

Cassper Nyovest grew rapidly as a brand through social media after he released "Gusheshe'' which was produced under his own record label he owns called Family Tree. Gusheshe is a very catchy song that received a lot of recognition from across various radio stations in South Africa. "Doc Shebeleza'' was then released and he gained major success.

Social media

People started knowing and hearing more about the rap artist through different social media networks such as radio stations for instance because the cool rapper came to Johannesburg and HHP exposed him to all his connections. His music was first played in our radios then saw videos on TV. People now wanted to know more about the rapper started following him on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. He created a social media platform for ONLY his fans in order for him to speak Hip Hop, share his FREE music through his platform and so he just knows what his fans think. Nyovest started treading everywhere when his music was everywhere, winning awards and known for his music.

North ''God"AKA vs Mostwako rapper Cassper Nyovest "BEEEEF"

August last year the rapper had BEEF with Aka backstage on the SABC 1 Live Amp studios. AKA's friend Prince Costinyo pulled a gun out for Nyovest, the beef became heated and AKA allegedly assaulted Nyovest's manager. Twitter was treading about the beef between the two artists and why the charges were later dropped out of court. The rappers started throwing shade, swearing each other on social media.

Twitter "The Devil"

Da Les tweets
Screen munches on Twitter and Instagram of who is bigger than who on Itunes made it to word of mouth, people having their own opinions of what they think about the childish behaviour from the two street rappers. The public hated the beef and some thought it was a stunt as they share the same public relations practitioner. People entertained the beef as it dragged to appear on television and radio, they had to say "'Cassper gets the legendary Doc Shebeleza on his music video. If Aka gets Thebe on the congratulate music video then he wins''. Some fans said ''Dont hate on Cassper. Gusheshe and Doc Shebeleza are major hits. Got niggas feeling threatened'' whilst Aka's friend Da Les said ''Look I dont wanna hear only artists saying they got the number 1 song in the country right now unless u my bro @akaworldwide''

My Thoughts

The public should learn not to judge people from where they come from but listen and learn from the talent that is being given by the rappers. Both of these artists got big headed after seeing that the public is entertaining them on different social media. I think we should support each other and not look down on other musicians. Guns being pulled out to show that my brothers have my back is not the right way forward. Fans must embrace the fact that Cassper gives them FREE music to download via Twitter and with that it boosts the artists ranking and generate more fans. The two rapper have squashed their beef.

  1. I agree with the notion that the beef was a publicity stunt but if it wasn't, then it was really immature but really good for the South African Hip Hop industry. It had a lot of cats on their toes, and us as the public got to enjoy great, FREE music. The lesson here is there will always be someone better than you. Now we just have to wait and see if Cassper has staying power and is not just a "one hit wonder."

  2. We will have to wait and see if Cassper has it in him to stay humble. Free music will sometimes guarantee a huge follow of new fans who want to know more about the artist.

  3. Social media platforms and the personalities that live there can heighten the intensity of a situation, despite the success of a brand. The beef stunt was highly unnecessary in my opinion, imagine how big the SA hip hop scene would be blowing up if they had collaborated rather than having these difference. I mean now they've settled their matters, its super different. Both rebels in their ways and highly successful but the social media can change a situation real fast.

  4. Casper is doing good for himself but i can't run away the fact that AKA is the best for me, but however after Casper winning 5awards @the metros14 he really gave all hip hop artists a wake up call.

  5. Casper is an inspiration to most of young south africans and he made his fans more proud by winning 5awards at the metro awards2014,but the beef is still there about him and AKA.
